Nan Mai

Nan Mai is Wa Wa Lwin’s 62 year old mother who is Buddhist.  Her husband died 10 years ago.  She has four adult children; Wa Wa Lwin-42 is the oldest, Wi Late-30 son working in Thailand, Pat We Inge-26 daughter baptized in 2010 is married to Saw Chite Twe, her fourth child is her youngest son who is living in Shan State.  He met an evangelist and converted to Christianity.  She did not hear from him for 15 years and presumed he was dead.  Then one day she received a phone call from him and he is planning to visit his mother.  Nan Mai is not sure when he will be home but she was hoping before Christmas.  Nan Mai’s daughter-in-law, Moe Moe is a nonbeliever and lives next door.  Nan Mai often hosts a Sunday school class in her home.  The church invites all the children around to join and the Buddhist parents send their children because the children like to attend.  There was a Buddhist shrine on the wall of Nan Mai’s house.  While we were visiting her neighbor, Aye Bay, came by to see the Americans.  He is a nonbeliever as well.  Suzanne shared the Gospel with the group through Judah interpreting for her.  As Judah shared the Truth, two appeared to be listening, but Nan Mai did not seem interested.  During Susanne’s prayer for salvation the women prayed but Moe Moe had no interest.  The room felt very dark.

Prayer requests:  Wi Late’s safety while working in Thailand, son in Shan State to return home, Saw Chite Twe and Moe Moe’s health, salvation for the nonbelievers.
