News from Nagpur: A New Home for Street Children!

Brother Rakesh, an evangelist in Nagpur, India, has come to know the street children in his town quite well. He has been feeding and bathing them each week for the past several months, teaching them about the Lord Jesus. Of course, Rakesh’s number one priority is to share the hope of the gospel. But because he also shares in the love and compassion of Jesus, Rakesh is now offering these children much more than one day of hope a week.

Rakesh is providing 10 boys with a new home on August 15 – despite persecution that he has already faced from both law enforcement and the gang leader who used to control these children. Mitesh and his wife, who are disciples from Rakesh’s church, will be parents to these 10 boys. They will finally have a home, a bed, regular meals and a loving family – all things they have been denied. Most importantly, they will learn about how much Jesus loves them and values them.

It cost a mere $1,500 to start this ministry in Nagpur and change the lives of these children. Ongoing financial needs total just $500 per month.

Please pray for Rakesh, Mitesh and his wife, and these 10 boys. The children have endured much hardship and pain, but through Jesus they can find hope and a new life. Please also consider becoming a sponsor for these children.

Because of God’s work in Nagpur, they will no longer be called “street kids.”
