Merry Christmas from Myanmar

May you have a Merry Christmas at this time when we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus! We have many things to celebrate from this past year, and many things that were very difficult for us to deal with, but the Lord continues to be faithful to us and we praise his mighty name!

All the orphans we take care are doing well, as are the evangelists we support. The evangelists are sharing the gospel to everywhere as the Lord allows.

We faced flood disaster in the past monsoon and we thank you for helping the victims. We have visited some of these areas again and they are doing some rebuilding of their lives now. My sister Mary, whose child was washed away in the flooding in Putao, is still very sad. Khaw’s sister Sarah, who was killed in a motorcycle accident, is with the Lord; her husband, Kinjong Sein, is doing better but is still very sad and struggling. Please pray for them both to heal and to find God’s peace.

Christmas is coming soon and we plan to have a Christmas celebration in Wireless, Bago, Jung Byaw, Bamauk and Nyung Che Taik. Therefore our schedule is very busy in December. We use our Christmas celebrations as times where we can invite the local authorities and the community people to our events. Many like to come, and if we give them Christmas presents, they are happy and we take this opportunity to share the gospel with them. If God opens their hearts, sometimes these visitors accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. It is exciting when this happens and we praise God!

Let me share with you about one new convert. His name is Tun Kyi, aged 65. He has HIV and he got this disease from his son while taking care of him. His son passed away five years ago from AIDS. Tun Kyi got very depressed by this disease and he was forsaken by his people. He was very lonely and isolated, but we showed him our Christian love and gradually the word of God touched his heart and now he is a believer. His elder brother is a monk and his family and neighbors are very strong in their religion, so he needs strength to be able to stand firmly in his faith. Please pray for him that he can endure his life difficulties and that he would find that God can supply all his needs.

We thank you wholeheartedly for your prayers, support and encouragement. We are harvesting the fruits of the gospel by your prayers and support.

Thank you again for standing faithfully behind us.

Your brother and sister in Christ,

Judah and Khaw Tangshing.

December 2015.
